The 16/30 sailing canoe is modernized version of a late 1800's boat built by the Gilbert Boat Company for the Gananoque Canoe Club. She was developed by John Summers from measurements and drawings of the original in the collection of Heritage Toronto. This thoroughbred is 16' long and has a 30" beam, the 16-30 class canoe typically carries 90 square feet of sail area divided between two sails.
