Force 5 sailors are laid back like most dinghy sailors....unless you're a skiffhead.
The Force 5 was desinged by Fred Scott in 1972 to compete against the Laser, Banshee and Cyclone. Most boats are on the East Coast of the United States. The Force 5 is made by Weeks Boats.
note: There is nothing worse than belonging to an orphan class.

Here is the next generation boat. They are trying to come up with a fast, simple, sit down dinghy for one or more sailors without a trapeze and a million strings to pull that is fast, safe, comfortable, and easy to sail.
Sounds like my kind of boat.

It is an ancient mariner,
And he stoppeth one of three.
"By thy long grey beard and glittering eye,
Now wherefore stopp'st thou me?
"The Bridegroom's doors are opened wide,
And I am next of kin;
The guests are met, the feast is set:
May'st hear the merry din."
He holds him with his skinny hand,
"There was a ship," quoth he.
"Hold off! unhand me, greybeard loon!"
Eftsoons his hand dropt he.
He holds him with his glittering eye -
The wedding-guest stood still,
And listens like a three years' child:
The Mariner hath his will.
The wedding-guest sat on a stone:
He cannot chose but hear;
And thus spake on that ancient man,
The bright-eyed mariner.
"The ship was cheered, the harbour cleared,
Merrily did we drop
Below the kirk, below the hill,
Below the lighthouse top.
The sun came up upon the left,
Out of the sea came he!
And he shone bright, and on the right
Went down into the sea.
Higher and higher every day,
Till over the mast at noon-"
The Wedding-guest here beat his breast,
For he heard the loud bassoon.
The bride hath paced into the hall,
Red as a rose is she;
Nodding their heads before her goes
The merry minstrelsy.
The Wedding-Guest he beat his breast.
Yet he cannot choose but hear:
And thus spake on that ancient man,
The bright-eyed Mariner.
"And now the Storm-blast came, and he
Was tyrannous and strong:
He struck with his o'ertaking wings,
And chased us south along.
With sloping masts and dipping prow,
As who pursued with yell and blow
Still treads the shadow of his foe
And forward bends his head,
The ship drove fast, loud roared the blast,
And southward aye we fled.
And now there came both mist and snow
And it grew wondrous cold:
And ice, mast-high, came floating by,
As green as emerald.
And through the drifts the snowy clifts
Did send a dismal sheen:
Nor shapes of men nor beasts we ken -
The ice was all between.
The ice was here, the ice was there,
The ice was all around:
It cracked and growled, and roared and howled,
Like noises in a swound!
At length did cross and Albatross,
Thorough the fog it came;
As if it had been a Christian soul,
We hailed it in God's name.
It ate the food it ne'er had eat,
And round and round it flew.
The ice did split with a thunder-fit;
The helmsman steered us through!
And a good south wind sprung up behind;
The albatross did follow,
And every day, for food or play,
Came to the mariner's hollo!
In mist or cloud, on mast or shroud,
It perched for vespers nine;
Whiles all the night, through fog-smoke white,
Glimmered the white moonshine."
"God save thee, ancient Mariner:
From the fiends, that plague thee thus! -
Why look'st thou so?" - "With my cross-bow
I shot the Albatross."

Cool? A nuisance on the beach? A nuisance on the water? Too Ghastly To Comprehend? I wonder what the Tillerman would say?

I love the idea of towing my surfski or rowing shell by a bike. If I only could tow my dinghy this way....I wonder if you could tow a Hoot?

I'm going to fire up the grill, eat burgers and hotdogs, drink beer, set off some firecrackers and have a good time with friends and family. That's what a good Fourth is all about. In the evening we will head over to the boat and watch the fireworks.
Thanks to all the soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who watch over us.

There is nothing like surfing under the Golden Gate Bridge. I'm just waiting for global warming to heat up the water.
Bonnie: Answer 3 - I like to surf....truth be told I am a bodysurfer / yaksurfer (surfski and inflatable) and occasionally I morph into a spongee. The stick guys hate me......just kidding.

1. Load you PWC in the back of the SUV, and drive to the nearest launch ramp.
Open the back doors of the SUV and back into the water. The PWC should float
out into the water.
2. Once the PWC is afloat and the SUV is half filled with water, drive the SUV back
onto the ramp. It helps to have someone stand on the walkway and point toward shore.
3. If at any point the SUV starts to disappear from view, you may be fairly certain
that the operation is not going as planned. However, this is a viable alternative to
crowded parking conditions at most ramps.
4. With your craft safely launched and engine revved, you are now ready for a great
day on the lake.
I was at Clear Lake this weekend and I must say that beer and jetskis are a wonderful combination.
